  • Mrs Anne Kolbe
    Chair
    is a specialist paediatric surgeon and an Associate Professor at the University of Auckland’s School of Medicine. She Chaired the South Island Neurosurgery Expert Panel in 2011 and is a current member of the PHARMAC Board and subcommittees of the Auckland District Health Board and the Whanganui District Health Board. Previously, Mrs Kolbe was President of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. She has been a member of the Waitemata District Health Board’s senior management team and a member for the Ministry of Health’s Elective Services Prioritisation Steering Group, the Medical Reference Group of the New Zealand Health Workforce Advisory Committee and the Service Capacity and Quality Working Group.
  • Mr Craig Climo
    is the CEO of Waikato DHB, a position he has held since 2007. He was CEO of South Canterbury DHB/Health South Canterbury from 1997-2007. He has several lead roles within the sector at regional and national levels. Mr Climo holds a Bachelor of Business Studies and an MBA (Dist.) from Massey University.
  • Mr Ross Laidlaw
    is a retired corporate lawyer and former partner of the Russell McVeagh law firm. Since the mid-1980s he has pursued his own business interests, including shareholdings, directorships and management positions in the bloodstock, energy and commercial property sectors. Mr Laidlaw is the current Chair of the Highlanders rugby franchise and was previously a Director of the Otago Rugby Football Union. He holds a Master of Laws from Yale University.
  • Ms Sharon Mariu
    is a principal of THS & Associates Ltd, a consultancy specialising in strategic and business development. She is a current member of the Waikato District Health Board and sat on the Lakes DHB board from 2002-2010. She also currently holds directorships in the agriculture and media sectors and has undergraduate and graduate degrees in management studies from Waikato University.
  • Dr Mark O’Carroll
    is a Respiratory Physician at Auckland City Hospital with subspecialty interests in Cystic Fibrosis, Lung Transplantation and Interventional Pulmonology. He is the Clinical Director of Respiratory Services. Dr O’Carroll has a strong interest in medical education and was the Director of basic physician training at Auckland City Hospital from 2003 until 2011. He remains the chair of the Auckland Regional Training Committee. He is the chair of the NZ Respiratory and Sleep Specialist Advisory Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and an Executive Member of the NZ branch of the Thoracic Society of Australia and NZ.
  • Mr Alex Price
    is Chief Executive of Fertility Associates, a major provider of fertility diagnosis, support and treatment. Prior to joining the company, he worked in Europe and Japan with management consulting firms A.T Kearney and Boston Consulting Group, specialising in pharmaceuticals and healthcare. His early career was spent in the New Zealand dairy industry working in protein chemistry and development. Mr Price is a Director of Peak Primary Ltd and the Fertility Society of Australia. He holds a chemical engineering degree, an MBA from IMD, Switzerland and a graduate certificate in reproductive medicine from the University of New South Wales.
